The Nonviolent Peace Force will be here in March!

It’s what to say YES to, when you say NO to war.

A federation of nearly 70 organizations from around the world and endorsed by eight Nobel Peace Laureates, the Nonviolent Peace Force (NP) is an unarmed, non-partisan coalition. In partnership with local groups, they apply proven strategies to protect human rights, deter violence and help create safe space for local peacemakers to carry out their work.

Sunday, March 8, 4:00 p.m.
Quakerย Meetinghouse, 225 Rooney St., Santa Cruz
RSVP to barbara@greybird.com

Jan Passion, a Program Officer with the Peaceforce, will present a slide show and describe how NP does its work. Jan has worked with NP in Sri Lanka as Deputy Director, and conducted field research and outreach in West Africa and Palestine/Israel. He was a guest faculty member at Lesley College in Israel and worked as a peace-building trainer with the Conflict Transformation Across Cultures Program. A peace activist and war tax resister for over twenty years, he worked for a decade counseling both perpetrators and victims of trauma and violence.

Special guest Matthew Monfort will perform on the scalloped fretboard guitar. Matthew has studied with masters in this field and performed all over the world.

No charge, everyone invited.

Sponsored by the Santa Cruz Friends Meeting and the Resource Center for Nonviolence.
