Voices of Muslim identity: A Call for Understanding and Connection

Santa Cruz’s recently-formed Muslim Solidarity Group will present an educational, celebratory community event—Voices of Muslim Identity: A Call for Understanding and Connection on Saturday, November 4th, from 6:45-9PM at the Resource Center for Nonviolence. Seeking to illuminate Islamic culture and practice, the program will feature music, food, and art from a variety of Muslim countries. Attendees will be introduced to stories of Muslim identity and experience through a short film and a panel of diverse local Muslims. Dialogue and Q and A will move us to discover common ground and build understanding and compassion. The event is free/donation requested.
