The Boys Who Said NO! (90 min) will be shown at the Museum of Art and History (MAH, 705 Front St. in Santa Cruz on Sunday June 9 at 2 pm.
You are invited to see the Fine Cut screening of The Boys Who Said NO! — a long-overdue documentary about the draft resistance movement during the Vietnam War and how this non-violent movement helped to end the war. It provides inspiration and ideas for facing today’s struggles for social justice and peace.
We’ve made steady progress and are very close to “picture lock” as they way. I don’t recall which was the last cut you’ve seen — but whichever it was we think this one is really impressive!
David Harris provides the link throughout this movie, to show how one person can change lives. Judith Ehrlich, the Director, helps weave the connection between the draft resistance movement and the Civil Rights movement…and through many stories of the people involved, she highlights the power and inspiration of nonviolence, and its strength as a tool to bring about change.
Donations at the door are requested, with proceeds to be used for archival footage rights and final editing. Contributions are tax deductible, and contributions of any size are welcome. The film’s producers also welcome leads for significant sponsorship to complete production.
