The Reel WorkโฉMay Day Labor Film Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary year with an
engaging lineโup of films that explore the lives and struggles of workers in the United States
and around the world. Films will be shown throughout Santa Cruz, Monterey and Santa Clara
Counties. The Santa Cruz County events are listed below. Highlights include:
Workers Memorial Day, April 28th is commemorated with a program of three films focusing on
the injustices that racism and classism have inflicted on working people.
FINALLYโฉGOT THE NEWS โ Black auto workers in Detroit build an independent labor
organization.
DIVIDE โ West Virginia coal miners challenge race baiting in the 2008 election.
TALKING HEADS โ Documentary commemorating the International Workers of the Worldโs
1912 free speech fight in San Diego.
