This is a fundraising event for IFCO/Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba

Saturday March 9th, 2013
St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 2500 Soquel Avenue,
Santa Cruz

-Doors open
– drinks and appetizers
6.00p.m. -Cuban meal (meat and vegan options) + dessert
7.00 pm – Main program
Voices and images of testimony from recent caravanistas to Cuba; Rhyme and poetry from Dementes hiphop group; Voices about the future of the Caravan Voices and Song in honor of Sandino Gomez.
Entrance to the meal is $20 per person – wine for purchase.
Entrance to the after-dinner program is free – a collection will be taken during the program. Proceeds will be sent to IFCO/Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba.

In July there will be a week of Cuba Caravan events in 10 different regions nationally, including Santa Cruz to challenge the US blockade by bringing high-value material aid. They will go to Santiago de Cuba to witness and participate in the long-term reconstruction of the city after its devastation by Hurricane Sandy last October. As part of the event we will be honoring Sandino Gomez for his outstanding contribution over many years as a volunteer with theย  Cuba Caravan, the Watsonville Brown Berets, and serving on the staff of the Resource Center for Nonviolence.
